SRINAGAR MARCH 26:Former EJAC president ,Civil society and Social activist Qayoom Wani on Thursady condoled the demise of religious personality Muhammad Ashraf Anim who died as the first victim of Corona pandemic in Kashmir.
Urging the people to take the lockdown very seriosly Wani said that time has come to fight a war against this Pandemic which on Thursday knocked here severely taking the first life in the valley.
While as on one side the priority is to adhere strictly to the lockdown and stay indoors but on the otherhand the learned sections of the community viz welfare organization volunteers ,employees ,teachers and Molvies have to come forward to meet the other challenges of the COVID 19 that have started emerging in the society.
Wani appealed tthe welfare organizations and the volunteers get ready for the challenge as the coming times are going to be tough which needs to be fought jointly:Wani added
Besides the govermental preparations and management the civil society needs to join hands in combating the emerging challenges of health, poverty and the rehabilitation needed in the context.
Kashmiri welfare /religious organizations individual volunteers ,teachers and employees have set examples of bravery and devotion in the past times be it flood/earthquake or other crises but today is a more peculiar and tough challenge in vogue.
Obeying and maintaing the guidelines of health authorities,advisories of the government the contributors of organization of welfare and volunteers need to devise strategies to fight the war so that nobody sleeps hungry or without a medicine if he is in a need
Wani requested the health authorities to issue guidelines for welfare organisatios and volunteers that how they could perform in these times and what PPEs are needed.
