Anantnag, March 27

Some unidentified gunmen shot dead civilian late on Friday evening here in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

The civilian was identified as Mehrajuddin Bhat, an auto driver. A senior police official confirmed the incident and said that Bhat was shot at multiple times in his house in Kulgam district’s Redwini.

Bhat was immediately moved to a hospital nearby and then to one in Anantnag, where he died.

A health official said he was admitted with several bullet wounds in his legs and arms and had a lost a lot of blood.

Security personnel have cordoned off the area and were still conducting searches when this report was being filed. Police have registered a case
