These poplars may add to the misery of people: Qayoom Wani

SRINAGAR MARCH 29: In an attention calling move Abdul Qayoom Wani former president of Employees Joint Action Commiittee and Civil society activist has urged the authorities to analyse the threat of pollen sheddig from a particular variety of poplar trees locally called Russian Poplar.
In the backdrop of the COVID 19 pandemic,
Wani said while everybody is desperately indoors maintaining social distance and other precautions, experts should before hand analyse the possible complexity of the problem prevailing the Corona Virus pandemic.
Wani has urged the authorities to implement the orders on war footing basis which are already in vogue for the eradication of these poplar trees which the govt has been reteriating for so many years now. But on the ground the trees were very much there posing a threat to human health in normal times not to speak of the current situation.
Pertinently Govt has been issuing orders every year for the cutting down of these poisonous pollen producing trees that cause allegery , throat infection &cheast infection to the people.
