SRINAGAR, APRIL 01: National Conference on Wednesday criticized the Centre’s new domicile rules for Jammu and Kashmir, saying it was adding insult to injury of the people as there were none of the promised protections.
National Conference leader and Member of Parliament Mohammad Akbar Lone while talking to Press Trust of Kashmir (PTK) said that this is not fair and at no cost this will be tolerated.
He said that this is not good step and has been taken at a time when whole world is busy with controlling COVID-19.
“This step will not sow seeds of love in hearts of Kashmiris but will alienate them further and I am sure every Kashmiri will go against it,” he said.
“I am requesting every Kashmiri to go against it as due to this order any non local can reside here,” he said.
The government on Wednesday issued a gazette notification announcing a slew of amendments to 138 Acts of Jammu and Kashmir that included protecting jobs up to Group-4 for only those who are domicile of the union territory.
