HANDWARA OCTOBER 28:

Major Kamlesh Mani of 21 Rashtriya Rifles who recently adopted Master Gawhar Mir a special boy who can’t speak and hear, successfully enrolled the boy in Class 9. Gawhaar has been enrolled in Higher Secondary School , Zachaldor and his teaching will be done in DEIC( Dist Early Intervention Center) Handwara.

The officer has arranged for his all schooling requirement to include books, uniforms , admission fees and other required needs.

The offr will also be taking care of his medical treatment. Though boy is 70 % disabled , the offr is getting help from District Hospital ,Handwara for initial check up. The offr has sought permission from the family members to get the boy treated outside Kashmir if reqd and will be bearing the expenses. The family members happily agreed to this.

On being asked from the boy about his aspirations, the boy pointed towards the officer and expressed,
I want to Become like him.
