Jammu and Kashmir EJAC an amalgam of about unions / associations of employees of different govt. / public sector units is the biggest and sole representative platform of employees of UT of Jammu and Kashmir . This was stated in a crowded press conference at Jammu which was addressed by senior trade union leader and president EJAC Mr. Mohd Rafique Rather flanked by vice president EJAC Haji Bashir and provincial president EJAC Wajahat Duranie .
On the occasion provincial body for Jammu region was announced. While addressing the press conference Mr Rather introduced provincial body EJAC which was

He expressed the hope that EJAC provincial body for Jammu will highlight the issues and problems of employees in general and employees of Jammu region in particular for redressal at appropriate forums. Mr Rather said that EJAC has been working for the welfare of employees fraternity of J & K irrespective of caste,color, creed, status, cadre, region and religion. The organization has also been working for strengthening work culture and eradication of corruption at all levels and as always been on fore front of implementing different schemes and projects of the govt in an efficient and transparent way. He said that election for the post of president EJAC was held on 16th of November, 2020 through which the representatives were elected to represent the employees fraternity.
Rafique Rather said that the issue of regularization of about 61 thousand of ad hoc / daily wager / casual labours and other temporary categories of employees including consolidated , HDF , MGNREGA ,Anganwari workers , contingent paid employees , Asha workers , Rehberi khel , NRHM employees and all those working under centrally sponsored schemes is still pending and the employees are not even paid their salary / wages on time . He said that since EJAC leadership met with Hon’ble Advisor Mr. Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar and Hon’ble Advisor Mr. Baseer Ahmad Khan and apprised them of the sufferings of these employees and urged for their regularization.
Mr Rather expressed dismay over the recent orders / circulars issued by the govt . which are in public domain regarding article 226 (A) by which govt is collecting data of the employees falling under 22 -48 years . He said that such orders have created chaos and confusion in the minds of employees fraternity and they feel insecure and harassed. Rather laid stress on removing such confusions which have added to the anxiety of govt. employees who are already working in extremely adverse working conditions. He said that employees of Jammu and Kashmir have performed extremely well during last thirty years and in particular in last two years during COVID-19 and it was their contribution only which kept the pandemic confined and didn’t allow it to spread. He further added that the efforts were acknowledged by the administration and even by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor.
Rather said that EJAC was expecting the gift of regularization of about sixty-one thousand ad hoc and temporary employees but now we are being threatened of termination of employees in the grab of Article 226 (A) which is injustice with the whole employees communitycolor, creed, status, cadre, region and religion. Mr Rafique Rather said that EJAC has always been fighting for the rights of employees and will continue to struggle democratically for the rights of employees and won’t accept any unjustified order which snatches the livelihood of innocent employees which will leave them to starvation. He urged upon Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Hon’ble Advisors and Chief Secretary to look into the issue so that the frightened employees feel a sigh of relief. He expressed hope that the employees are encouraged for their efforts they have put in all these years instead of harassing them on one pretext or the other.
