Jammu 20.2.20: Of late the govt has issued orders/ circulars regarding 22- 48 provisions of retirement and calling registration details of unions. Amendment in the existing provisions of retirement and registration has sent panicky waves amongst the working class of the JKUT.

In a statement issued hear by media cell of GEJAF ,Reads that in order to re-act to these , an emergent meeting of representatives of major trade unions/ EJACs/Associations was held here today under the banner if Jk govt. EMPLOYEES joint action forum which was presided over by Sushil Sudan . More than 100 trade union leaders across JKUT attended. Senior leaders while addressing the participant leaders exhorted the employees to remain united as repressive measures of govt in the shape of daily circulars will be fought with full force .The rational of the govt in amending already existing provisions of 22-48 is not plausible as existing provisions are adequate to deal with all exigencies leading to application of this provision and amendment is aimed at to harras and intimidate EMPLOYEES. There is virtually no registration of unions is done by govt for the last more than a decade and in the face of it,calling details if unions is nothing but to muzzle the voice of EMPLOYEEs unions. The leaders unanimously rejected these orders and decided to apprise concerns of EMPLOYEES to the hon’ble LG immediately. To chalk out further course of action a committee of S/ sh. Sushil Sudan, Eijaz khan, Suresh Sharma, Mohd Rafiq Rather,Babu Hussain Malik was constituted. They appealed all trade union leaders to get united for a general cause and participate in the coming meeting.
