3 J&K BN NCC conducting NCC camp at Boniyar Uri  in north Kashmir

Boniyar: While National Cadet Corps (NCC) activities have been on the increase to impart training to Cadets in North Kashmir after the successful camps in Uri and Baramulla in the recent past, another National Cadet Corps Annual Training Camp (ATC) is being org by 3 J&K Bn NCC Baramulla from 10 to 16 Mar 2021 in Army Camp location in Boniyar under the aegis of NCC Group Headquarter Srinagar and NCC Directorate Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh.

A statement issued here said that NCC training camp is being held in Boniyar area after almost a decade as last camp was held in 2009 and security and administrative assistance has been provided by the local army formation of Baramulla and Uri.

In this camp a total of 110 Cadets shall take part, these Cadets are from schools and colleges of Baramulla, Uri, Handwara, Tangmarg, Tangdhar, Kupwara, Lolab, Bandipora, Pattan, Sopore and Boniyar. After the training at the camp Cadets shall be then eligible to attend ‘B’ & ‘C’ certificate examination to be held later in the month, the statement informed.

The camp commenced with conduct of Rapid Corona Test of the entire cadets and  staff conducting the camp by team of Block Medical Officers Boniyar.

The camp commandant Col Ravinder Singh welcomed and briefed the cadets on the schedule of training and the mode of conduct during the camp. He laid emphasis on preventive measures like maintaining social distance, wearing masks and washing of hand regularly. Commandant laid emphasis on positive thinking, self learning, acquiring general awareness, and social service and community development activities.

The cadets will be undergo basic training like Physical Training, Drill, Weapon Training, Firing, Map Reading and grooming to instill confidence. To commemorate the successful completion of  50 years of 1971 ops, activities like, Debate, Painting and  show casing of  Movie is planned.

Decorated Army Officers and special speakers shall be addressing the Cadets during the course of training. The Cadets shall be exposed to conduct of Social Services and Community development programme like Tree Plantation and Swatch Bharat Abhiyan. A visit to NHPC at Boniyar is planned for these cadets during the camp. Visit by Senior army officers of the Gp Headquarter NCC Srinagar and Army formation at Baramulla is also scheduled to inspire the cadets.

There was enthusiasm and smiles on the faces of the cadets. The cadets expressed their happiness in sustained conduct of regular NCC training in the home town of North Kashmir and appreciated the endeavors taken by NCC.
