BARAMULLA, MARCH 15:

Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar accompanied by concerned officers today paid visit to upper reaches of the district where he took appraisal of the situation emerged due to landslides. These landslides were caused due to recent incessant rains that lashed the valley.

Bhupinder Kumar visited Katyawali and its adjoining villages where several houses have been damaged due to landslides. The DC took a detailed review of the situation during which he directed to make complete assessment of the losses.

DC also stressed to make necessary arrangements for the affected families so that they didn’t face any inconvenience. He further exhorted upon the concerned agencies to put in place a viable mechanism especially for land slide prone areas so that loss is minimized during any kind of natural disaster.
