Sopore: After serving as Covid-19 hospital for people of Baramulla district since outbreak of deadly Covid-19 pandemic, Sub District Hospital (SDH) Sopore has been de-notified much to delight of patients who had to travel several kilometers for general ailments and SDH Sopore has started its OPD and IPD departments besides conduct all kinds surgeries.
As the hospital witness huge influx of patients, people from cross section of society has hailed the efforts of hospital administration, doctors and paramedics for their extraordinary services in contaiing Covid-19 pandemic by treating large number of patients.
“ As the hospital started its retinue OPD, IP and general surgeries, people Rafiabad Baramulla,Sopore, Zaingeer, Karlgund, Langate parts of Handwara, Bandipora has hailed the administration as they are now getting treatment in the nearest hospital,” said a local resident of Sopore Bilal Ahmad.
“The hospital has been closed for general patients but after a year the hospital is open for general public which is indeed welcome step,” he added

Talking to SNS Kashmir Incharge Officer SDH Sopore Dr Rudyana said that as the hospital has been de-notified as Covid-19 hospital, we are able to treat general patients besides conduct surgeries.
“The decision was taken for the betterment of general public and we are e providing basic healthcare facilities 24×7 at SDH including general, orthopedic and ENT surgeries. Besides Covid obstetrics and Covid-19 admissions continues to help he patient,” she added.
