17188 people receives first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Uri

69 people tested positive for COVID within 2 weeks

URI APRIL 05 :

At least 17188 people have received first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in both the Medical blocks of Uri so far.

Official sources told Sarhadi Times that 8402 people in Medical block Uri received first dose of vaccine till now and 8786 peoples received in vaccine in Boniyar Medical Block.

Official said 1316 people received second dose of vaccine in Uri Medical block and 1017 peoples received in Medical block Boniyar.

He said people who received first & second dose includes above 45 years local residents, health workers, frontline officials, ICDS employees and revenue officials.

The official further said at least 40,000 population of both the medical blocks of Uri who are in target group and remaining is being given vaccine doses.

Official said 69 people tested positive for Covid-19 in both the Medical blocks of Uri in which 66 tested positive in Uri and 3 in Boniyar.

He said all were sent for home isolation and have been advised for follow Covid protocol.

Meanwhile, Block Medical Officer Uri Dr Mohammad Ramzan Mir has appealed people above 45 years to come for vaccination.

“It is very important and we have 30 session sites for Covid vaccination in Uri. People should come to us and get vaccinated along with the other family members in target group,” he said .
