Minister of State for External Affairs Vellamvelly Muraleedharan in response to questions raised including whether a map of India on the website of World Health Organization (WHO) is depicting the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh in a totally different colour;  if so, the details thereof; whether Government of India has lodged any protest with WHO in this regard; and if so, the steps taken by Government to ensure that such incidents may not recur in future?

In a written reply filed by the MoS, External Affairs, Muraleedharan, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that the issue of the wrong depiction of the map of India on the World Health Organization (WHO) website has been raised strongly with WHO including at the highest level.

Pakistan-based cybercriminals behind Airtel data hack

NEW DELHI, FEBRUARY 4:

The recent data leak of at least 26 lakh Airtel users from Jammu and Kashmir was the handiwork of Pakistan-based hackers, who created new accounts to put data in the public forum and sell them for $3500 in Bitcoin, a security expert said on Thursday.

The hackers, who go by the name of ‘TeamLeets’ and are possibly operating from Pakistan, initially dumped the data on a link and even threatened to leak more Airtel data via a new Twitter handle that goes by the name of ‘Red Rabbit Teams’.

The new Twitter account, however, has been restricted by the microblogging site for “unusual activity”.

TeamLeets then created another Twitter handle that goes by the name of ‘PANAMA-iii (Scandal and Mega Database)’, which tweeted fresh links to another subset of data from the original sample of 26 lakh J&K users, which may belong to the people from the Indian Army. This particular account was also deleted later.

“TeamLeets, which is a Pakistan-based hacking group, is behind the Airtel data leak,” independent cyber security researcher Rajshekhar Rajaharia told IANS when contacted.

“They first dumped the data on a domain in December last year, which was removed. TeamLeets then created a couple of Twitter accounts to further push its agenda. It is possible that Red Rabbit Teams and TeamLeets are two sides of the same coin or are working together,” Rajaharia added.

The Pakistan-based hackers had access to the data and wanted to sell them but could not succeed. Hence, they dumped the data on the internet.

The hackers had dumped the data on the public forum, and not on the Dark Web.

In an earlier statement, Airtel had said that in this specific case, “we confirm that there is no data breach at our end”.

“In fact, the claims made by this group reveal glaring inaccuracies and a large proportion of the data records do not even belong to Airtel. We have already apprised the relevant authorities about the matter,” Airtel had said. (IANS)

HC Stays Circular On Charging New Stamp Duty Retrospectively

SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 4 :

Jammu and Kashmir High Court has stayed a government circular issued by the Inspector General of Registration, J&K regarding stamp duty on 30 December last year.

The Circular requires all Registrars and Sub-Registrars to charge stamp duty as per new rates with effect from 1 January 2021 irrespective of the date of uploading of documents onto the National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS), date of filing of the documents with the Registrars/Sub-Registrars.

“In the meantime, the impugned circular issued by the Inspector General of Registration, J&K, Jammu is stayed,” said a bench of Justice Sanjay Dhar passed the orders after hearing a petition filed by one Shabnam Nazir who contended through her lawyer that date of the execution of a document determines the rate at which stamp duty has to be affixed on a document and not the date on which, the document is actually registered by the Sub-Registrar.

To support the contention, her counsel referred to Section 47 of Registration Act, according to which, a document, irrespective of date of its registration, takes effect from the date of its execution.

The counsel further argued that the Inspector General of Registration has no jurisdiction to issue a circular in respect of charging of stamp duties.

Observing that the petition raises an important questions of law, the court admitted it to hearing and issued notice to the government returnable by April 12 .

The court also directed concerned Sub Registrar to consider the document in question presented by the woman for Registration.I”n case the same fulfills all other requirements of law and rules, the document be admitted to Registration without insisting in payment of stamp duty on revised rates, subject to filing of an undertaking by the petitioner (Shabnam) that in case she fails in this petition, she shall make good the deficiency of stamp duty.”(GNS)

25-yr-old Ayesha becomes youngest female pilot of India

SNS KASHMIR

Srinagar, Feb 04 : Kashmiri youth have made their name in every field whether it is sports, education or anything else. A 25-year-old Ayesha Aziz, with a Kashmir lineage, has become India’s youngest pilot, making her parents proud.

Ayesha’s father resides in Mumbai while her mother belongs to Kashmir. The country’s youngest pilot grew up in Mumbai only where she completed her studies and achieved her goal of life.

Ayesha said she has been aspiring to become a pilot since her childhood. “Becoming youngest pilot was not important for me, but what exactly is joyous is that I have achieved my dream and goal of my life,” she said.

“I did my studies and grew up in Mumbai. As my mother belongs to Kashmir, we were putting up in the Valley for a long time after my schooling. After completing Class 12th, we stayed in Kashmir for nearly four years. I have been flying in and out of Kashmir for my training and for other purposes after my High Schooling,” she said.

She said as a kid of the mother who belongs to Kashmir, she was often flying there and that’s how she developed interest in flying. “I knew that I wanted to be a pilot when I was in my middle school as I love to travel; I love the entire concept of flying. It fascinated me. Traveling, learning different languages, tasting the world and all these things made me sure that this is what I wanted to become in my life,” she said.

“What is more dynamic than being the one who is piloting an aircraft that’s weighing 70 ton machine and you have the power to pilot it and you are working against gravity. So these things really fascinated me and that’s why I wanted to become the one. I never thought about working from 09-05 jobs. I always wanted to do something adventurous, which is dynamic. There are changes in this field and that’s why I preferred this only,” she said.

Ayesha got her first license to fly an aircraft when she was 16-years-old. “Soon after getting my first license, I got a commercial license after that very shortly,” she said.

Asked about becoming the youngest Indian female pilot, Ayesha stated that she is glad that she has achieved her dream. “I feel it is controversial that I have become the youngest or something else. What is more soothing to hear that I have achieved what I always dreamt of,” she said.

Appealing the Kashmiri children to focus on their target and don’t bother to think about the society, Ayesha Aziz said, “There would be people who will speak against you. But, one must remain more focused towards his/her goal so that it is achieved.”

While appealing parents to support their children in their desires and aspirations, Ayesha said, “The children can’t go ahead until and unless they have the support of their parents. The children are the responsibility of their parents. Parents play a pivotal role in fulfilling their dreams. They should give freedom to their children and let them pursue their goals.”

Talking about the love for Kashmir, Ayesha said she heaved a sigh of relief whenever she visits Valley. “I heave a sigh of relief in Kashmir. I hold a very strong identity of myself from the place where my mother belongs to. Even when I am in Mumbai, I only sip Nun Chai. I always prefer Kashmiri food. Despite spending most of the time outside Kashmir, I know my language (Kashmiri) very well and often speak in this language,” she said.

Besides achieving her goal by becoming a pilot, Ayesha further stated that she desires and loves to do humanitarian service in her life. “I want to help the poor and needy in my life. I am looking forward to collaborating with UNICEF soon to do humanitarian work. Even during lockdown, I was associated with many NGOs in Kashmir and we did some great work. I will love to do humanitarian works again in the future,” 25-year-old Pilot said.
