Chankhan bridge in Sopore collapsed

SOPORE, JULY 01 : 

A old Chankhan bridge in Sopore area of District Baramulla collapsed on Wednesday evening.

Reports reaching hear that an oldest bridge in Chankhan area of Sopore, collapsed in the evening, adding that the debris of the bridge fell into the river Jehlum.

Sources said the bridge was closed for the public in the year 2019 after it developed cracks and posed threat to the lives of commuters.

This bridge was canecting Main Market  Sopore with onather part of Sopore and was a important for both sides of the people of Sopore.

Meanwhile, officials visited the spot to take stock of the situation.
