KUPWARA FEBRUARY 01 :

Panchayat Raj System plays a vital role in development of an area and as an effort to empower the System, an Army-Awaam Interaction with all Sarpanch & Panch of Qadirabad Block was organised in Trehgam with initiative by Commander, 68 Mountain Brigade and CO, 41 RR (HAMDARD-E-KUPWARA). Despite chilling weather, there was healthy participation by all elected members including newly elected Mrs Tahira Begum, DDC, Mr Abdullah Mir, BDC Trehgam, and Sarpanch & Panch of all 14 villages.
The prevailing situation in Trehgam was discussed and it was reaffirmed by all that it was aptly conducive for kick starting all developmental activities. The role of newly elected representatives as stake holders in the affairs and as an important link to grassroot development was elaborated and were called upon to shoulder their new responsibilities with earnest passion.
Various welfare schemes from Government for the Awam and ways to make them reach to the beneficiaries were dwelled in a two way interaction. Few other issues concerning the Awam were also brought out and how both can help each other in resolving them were discussed. The interaction provided a platform for meeting of elected ones and Army on common issues and will contribute as a building block in development of Trehgam.
