Efforts on to Strengthen Infras for making J&K Power Surplus, says Manoj Sinha

BARAMULLA, APRIL 03: 

Taking a leap forward in the direction of making J&K Power Surplus, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha today e-inaugurated as many as 17 Power Projects worth Rs 118.91 Cr at Delina, Baramulla.

These projects include augmentation of Grid Station Delina from 160 MVA to 320 MVA at 220 kv level, 220 kv D/C New Wanpah-Mirbazar Transmission line, 33/11 kv 10 MVA Verinag and Tral Bala Sub Station, 33/11 kv 6.3 MVA sub-station at Chowgam, Foodpark sub-station augmentation from 1*6.3 MVA to 2*6.3 MVA, 33/11 kv 10 MVA Soibug Sub-station among other several vital projects.

After e-inaugurating these projects, the LG said that the new projects will give a major push to the strengthening of the Power Infrastructure in the region. He added that Government is taking short term, medium term and long term measures to provide the people with quality power supply round the clock in the coming two years.

“Besides, responsibilities are being fixed and experts were roped in to provide mitigation of power related issues for removing the bottlenecks that impede timely completion of augmentation and restoration works of various power projects”, the LG added.

Meanwhile, Advisor to LG Baseer Ahmad Khan gave a brief scenario of power sector and said that Power sector has got an increased Budget of Rs 120 Cr, taking the total to Rs 2728 cr. He added that approved projects worth Rs 54,000 Crore to generate 3500 Megawatt in three to four years is a separate entity.

Principal Secretary to the Govt, Power Development Department Rohit Kansal, Chief Engineers, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar, senior officers among other concerned functionaries were present on the occasion.
