SNS Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 29: Apni Party chief Altaf Bukhari today criticized the Government for giving 8.23 percent share of J&K Bank to Ladakh as part of division of resources after carving out two Union Territories out of J&K.

Talking to media he said, ” Ladakh has 2.5 lakh population and it is unjustified to give them 8.23% share to the Ladakh. Is this the way to divide resources. What about division of debit. Is it like we will get debit and they will get resources. We won’t allow this. If it is not stopped, Apni party will come on roads. As they say if you don’t raise hue and cry , you become Party to the decision. I would request my Political leaders to join us in saving the resources of J&K, whatever is left we will try to safeguard it.”

Regarding the meeting with Prime Minister, he said, ” whether it is statehood l, securing jobs, lands we will keep demanding it. Promises were made in 1947 also in parliament Then people didn’t follow it. Everyone knows what happened there after. We keep on knocking door for our demands. Inshallah we will get statehood.”

Demanding judicious divide of resources is not a crime or anti-national. He also demanded uniform norm for DDC seats for formation of councils.”We will also form DDC chairman in some Districts as we have required number,” he said.He reiterated that PAGD was formed to face public as united face for their mistakes of past.

“We had nothing to answer before public. We formed Party when everything was gone.august 5 is day of mourning. Those who former PAGD has left nothing here which we can  sell. If they couldn’t save anything what they will being. Elections of J&K are not for bringing article 370. Yes there is difference some people are in politics to serve their interests and some for public welfare. I don’t think anyone has better credentials than Apni party. Whenever we have got chance we worked for the welfare of the people.”

He added that he has met Prime Minister, Home Minister and Security advisor and doesn’t need to join BJP.”NC has been part of Government, PDP is dubbed as creation of BJP. Wait and watch everyone will leave from PAGD.”

NEW DELHI JANUARY 29 :

Prsedent Ram Nath Kovind addressed a joint sitting of parliament.

Three controversial laws at the core of farmer protests have been paused by the Supreme Court and the government will respect the order, President Ram Nath Kovind said today while strongly defending the measures. The government is trying to tackle misgivings over the laws, he told parliament in his traditional budget session address, which was boycotted by 19 opposition parties in support of the farmers’ demand that the three laws be repealed.

Addressing a joint sitting of parliament on the opening day of the Budget session, the President also condemned as “very unfortunate” the violence during the Republic Day tractor rally by farmers in Delhi.

“Farmers recently carried out a tractor rally. However, there was violence during the protests and there were incidents of insult to the national flag at Red Fort on Republic Day. This was very unfortunate,” President Kovind said.

“If the Constitution gives us the right to freedom of expression, it also reaches us to take laws and rules seriously,” he said.

On the farm laws, he said they were passed after extensive deliberations and had “immediately benefited” 10 crore small farmers.

“Today there are more than 80 per cent small farmers, who number over 10 crore. The biggest beneficiaries of the new farm laws are these small farmers. They immediately started benefiting from these agricultural reforms,” said President Kovind.

During the address, some opposition MPs, including Congress’s Ravneet Singh Bittu and Rashtriya Loktantrik Party’s Hanuman Beniwal, raised slogans like ”Jai Jawan Jai Kisan” and demanded that the laws be cancelled.

SNS KASHMIR

NEW DELHI JANUARY 29 :

Noting that after the abrogation of the provisions of Article 370 of the Constitution, new entitlements have ushered in for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, President Ram Nath Kovind said on Friday.

The government was committed to countering all forces challenging India’s sovereignty and unity and was taking strong action against those inciting violence in the country, he said.

Addressing a joint sitting of both Houses of Parliament on the first day of Budget session, Kovind said: “My government is committed to counter the forces challenging the sovereignty and unity of the country at every level. While on one hand, development is being promoted in violence-affected areas, on the other, firm action is being taken against the forces inciting violence.”

The President also underlined that because of the government’s twin-approach, the number of incidents involving Naxal violence had declined and the number of Naxal-affected areas were shrinking.

“After the abrogation of the provisions of Article 370, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have been empowered with new entitlements. The development-oriented policy of the Central Government has also received wholehearted support from the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Only a few weeks ago, the elections to district councils in Jammu and Kashmir were held successfully for the first time after independence,” Kovind said.

The President said the large-scale participation of voters in the District Development Council (DDC) polls in the Union Territory had shown that Jammu and Kashmir was forging ahead towards a new democratic future at a rapid pace and the grant of new entitlements had empowered the people of the region.

“After the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Health Scheme, every family of Jammu and Kashmir is assured of free treatment worth Rs 5 lakh. A bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal has also been established in Jammu,” he said.

Kovind said after becoming a Union Territory, elections to the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Council were held successfully a few months ago, and now, people of Ladakh were taking decisions related to the development of their region expeditiously. (Agency)

A resident of Muzaffarabad, Somiya Sadaf is contesting the election from Dragmulla Kupwara district of North Kashmir.

There were 12 candidates contesting this seat. The main contender for the seat was PAGD candidate Shabnam Lone. “I don’t understand why at all the nomination papers of PaK resident was accepted. She was allowed to campaign and contest and later objections were raised and results were withheld. I blame State Election Commission and District Administration for the mess,” Lone told Kashmir News Trust.

She said despite repeated requests to district administration and election commission, the result is not being declared given the fact PaK contender was polled only over a dozen votes.
