SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 21 :

Two PDP members, including the maternal uncle of former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, have been “detained”, PDP said on Monday. The detained include Sartaj Madani, uncle of Mufti, and Peer Mansoor. Incidentally, the authorities in June this year had revoked PSA detention against the duo together alongside former IAS officer-turned-politician Shah Faesal.

“Total lawlessness as PDPs Sartaj Madni & Mansoor Hussain have been arbitrarily detained today on the eve of DDC election results. Every senior police officer here is clueless as it is ‘upar say order’. No rule of law in J&K anymore. It is out & out Gunda Raj,” Mehbooba Mufti said in a tweet. (GNS)

SRINAGAR DECEMBER 21:

A militant organisation in Kashmir, People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF) has threatened in a new video to “execute” the agents of Rashtriya SwayamSevak Sangh (RSS) who are planning to settle in Jammu and Kashmir and warned that “we won’t allow Israeli-type settler colonies … and Indians who want to settle in those colonies will become its legitimate target,” reported News18.

A masked man, wearing a pheran, with two AK rifles and several rounds of ammunition placed on a table, further said in the video that “as a rule, we don’t target civilians but all those RSS agents who want to come with a sinister plan of settling down in Kashmir, they would not be spared”.

As per the report, the PAFF had earlier in the year shot a video of their ambush on a CRPF party near Srinagar-Baramulla highway by using bodycams for the first time.

“Outsiders won’t be allowed to change the pious status of Jammu and Kashmir. Colonies for non-Kashmiris in the garb of settlement colonies and sectors is another dirty plan of fascist Indian regime,” he said. “Freedom fighters won’t allow such dirty plans to flourish in Jammu and Kashmir. They will put their lives on line to thrust such moves. So be aware.”

The spokesman alleged the “Hindutva terrorists” were scheming to throw Kashmiris out by usurping their land and cutting their orchards on one pretext or another, reported News18. Some news clips of land being identified for soldiers’ colony and orchards being mowed down were embedded in the video where the masked likened it to “Israeli style-settler colonialism”.

New Political Party in J&K ready to be launched

SNS KASHMIR

SRINAGAR DECEMBER 20 :

As the mainstream political parties eagerly await the results of much hyped DDC Polls, a buzz has gone around the political landscape of J&K that a new political outfit was likely to emerge in coming days, with many suggesting that a stalwart leader from Kashmir polity could lead the new flock.

News agency RNA quoted sources as saying that many leaders of various political parties across J&K have been huddling from several weeks to float a new political party in coming days.

A senior political leader of a party from South Kashmir said that more than a dozen senior political leaders from North, Central and South Kashmir along with many from the Jammu division were in serious and deep consultations from so many days and were likely to launch a new party which would be most probably led by a political heavyweight from Kashmir. When asked if , he was hinting towards the former PDP Patron and Deputy Chief Minster Muzaffer Hussain Beigh, the leader retorted and said , he ( Mr. Beigh) had nothing to do with it , adding that it would be a “credible surprise.”

” No, he has nothing to do with it. Please wait a few more days and you would come to know .” the leader told wishing not to be identified.

When asked why these leaders felt the need of launching another party when there were already so many parties and a grand alliance as well , another leader who has been part of the consultations said, ” Situations has been so confusing post Aug-05,2019, that nobody is sure what these party heads and leaders are upto. It has become so murky and absurd as well. We fail to understand what they say and what they do, so a new political outfit inwhich many leaders of various parties would join hands has now become inevitable.” he said.

Meanwhile this news wire has learnt that many senior leaders of various political parties including former minsters and legislators may breakaway from their parties to come together and be part of the new party. RNA could however, not confirm from independent sources as and when exactly the launch would take place , but sources maintained that the leaders were waiting for the culmination of the DDC elections and the process may pick momentum after the declaration of results on Tuesday reported RNA.
